The small village of West Melton 8km west has a small supermarket, chemist and doctors surgery and there are two restaurants within the village.
Darfield township is 8 km east and has numerous restaurants, bakeries and shops. Also chemist and doctors surgery.
The largest town is Rolleston which is also a 10 minute drive away and has many shops and resturants and two large supermarkets, KFC and 24 hour McDonalds as well as a 24 hour BP service station. There are gyms, doctors and chemists as well as pizza, indian, chinese and thai restaurants that have dine in or take away options.
A 30 minute drive will take you into the city.
